THE ASK
It’s the holidays. This wasn’t so much of an “ask” as it was an idea that came to life in a brainstorm. Poking fun at Elf on a Shelf turned into—we should do something like that, we should have an elf that gives deals, tips and surprises throughout the holidays. And then his name: Elfredo. And everyone fell in love!
THE SOLVE
Elfredo was a charismatic fella that brought deals, surprises and tips throughout the month of December. The concept was fully saturated for mobile and desktop on the Restaurant.com home page, Facebook page, Restaurant.com’s Dish blog, Twitter and Instagram pages. He offered tips for moms dining with kids, top restaurants—even a complete Spotify playlist that made you nothing but HUNGRY!
THE RESULTS
Elfredo was a hit! Creating a huge burst in sales and touting 58.1% unique visits and over 50% of the overall page views for the entire site. We even achieved over 20% click-through rates on a few of the promotional emails that featured Elfredo…a feat that hadn’t been accomplished in over two months. One email in particular performed 89% above forecast. Those are some great numbers!
